Cobblestone is canonically a French country estate owned by “Lord William.” We dug through the old 1.6-era lore, the Dust connection, and what that means for Courier’s house style.
The 1.6 era lore
David Johnston’s design notes for Cobblestone established it as a country estate rather than a medieval fortress — French architecture, museum displays, wrought-iron banners. “Lord William” is the canonical name in community lore, rarely surfaced officially.
The Dust connection
Johnston also designed de_dust and de_dust2. Cobblestone is the European companion to his Middle-Eastern oeuvre: the shared author explains why all three maps share a “contained courtyard + flanking corridors” design language.
